2nd International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics

IOAA (International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics) is an astronomy competition for high school students around the world. The purpose of IOAA is to promote interest and educations on astronomy and astrophysics of high school students.

Just like Olympiad game, Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad or other science Olympiad is not only about competition and winning the prize, but the important thing is building friendship with other participants from all over the world with the same interest.

IOAA organizes a yearly competition on astronomy and astrophysics for high school students. The first one was held in Thailand and the second one is holding in Bandung, Indonesia. The 2nd IOAA in Bandung has been opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. 25 countries participated on this event is Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lithuania, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Srilanka, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Vietnam.
